Vendays-Montalivet church

Built in 1867, the Church of Saint Seurin in the village of Vendays will delight fans of the neo-Gothic style. Its unique architecture and height add to the village’s charm, making this basilica a meeting place for local residents. Every Sunday, in summer and winter, a market is held near the basilica, to the delight of locals and visitors alike.

Time passes, but the Church remains

The Church of Saint-Seurin has evolved over the ages while retaining its original architecture.

It is featured in the exhibition “Vendays-Montalivet: un siècle d’évolution” (Vendays-Montalivet: a century of change), which highlights the town’s transformation.

Le Jardin de la Cure

Behind the church lies a little corner of greenery where life is good. In summer, a festive air settles in with the gourmet market. Like a weekly rendezvous, the garden is transformed into a village festival. Locals and tourists alike gather around the stalls toenjoy a convivial moment with background music. It’s a place that appeals to all generations, where family and friends gather for a drink while children play and dance around the tables.

During the day, it’s a quiet spot where you can read a book or enjoy a leisurely picnic. This is also where you’ll find one of the works on the Terra Médoca art trail.
