A hidden natural heritage
Formed by the marshes of Le Gua and La Perge, this pathway between the forest and the dune belt forms a wooded setting that is not visible at first glance. The diversity of its landscapes, the particularity of its formation and the wealth of flora and fauna it shelters make it an exceptional place, accessible on foot for the enjoyment of the general public!
💡 A practical tip before you launch: The marsh is a natural area, so it’s dependent on the vagaries of the weather. Remember to equip yourself accordingly!
Highlights
A postcard that changes with the seasons
The 130-hectare Marais de la Perge is fed by the Chenal du Gua, which crosses it from south to north, by rainwater running down the dunes, and by the water table , which also contributes to its water supply.
If you’re lucky, you may come across animals that like to live in this particular ecosystem. Keep your eyes and ears wide open: ducks, herons, otters and turtles could be hiding under the foliage! Migratory birds and deer may also join the stroll.
Educational panels will guide you along the way, making your walk an educational experience.
